Toothache is usually caused by tooth decay. The bacteria have already made their way into the interior of the tooth and are attacking the root.
How does the pain come about?
Each tooth root normally has a canal that is filled with tissue, the tooth's nerve and small blood vessels and is open at the bottom.
If bacteria penetrate the tissue, inflammation occurs, causing the vessels to expand. As the inflammation progresses, the expanded vessels then press on the dental nerve and patients feel pain.
But don't panic, we can save it!
In the dental root canal treatment a dead or inflamed tooth is treated in such a way that it is preserved. Bacteria and germs are removed. The goal of root canal treatment is to preserve the tooth and restore the function of individual teeth. Normally, no teeth need to be extracted.
